Michelle D Wendell, MS, DVM

No Description

Dr. Michelle Wendell grew up in western Nebraska in a very rural community.
Veterinary Medicine has always been her passion from a very
early age. Dr. Wendell got her bachelor's degree at Chadron State College in Nebraska
and received a Masters Degree and Doctortate of Veterinary Medicine from
Colorado State University. After graduating from Veterinary School, Dr. Wendell
practiced at and eventually served as Hospital Director one of the hospitals in Las Vegas
previously owned by Dr. Laura Hokett. Dr. Wendell thrives on the many aspects of veterinary
medicine from the challenges of internal and emergency medicine, to surgery, dermatology,
animal behavior, and practice management. Northwest Arkansas reminds Dr. Wendell of her
previous home in Colorado and she is excited to call this home. At home she is joined  by
her canine family of Mercedes and Blitz, two German Shepherds, Ben, the Jack Russell Terrier,
and the assortment of foster dogs she cares for. In her spare time, Dr. Wendell enjoys the
outdoors, dog training, volunteering and spending time with her family.

Laura Hokett, DVM

No Description

Dr. Laura Hokett is an Arkansas native, born in Little Rock. She attended the U of A for her
undergraduate school. She graduated from LSU with her DVM in 1987. For 16 years, she
called Los Vegas home. While in Las Vegas, she owned and operated two large progressive
animal hospitals. Drs. Hokett and Wendell enjoyed working together in Las Vegas and wanted to
open a state-of-the-art animal hospital together here in Arkansas. This dream was achieved when
Best Friends opened in January 2006. Dr. Hokett is very happy to be back making her home in
Arkansas with her 2 children, menagerie of  pets (dogs, cat, guinea pig, bird, and fish),
and expanded family. She has been widowed, remarried and has 3 visiting step-daughters
as well. For fun and relaxation, Dr. Hokett likes to work in the yard, play golf, sail, scuba dive, travel,
and spend time with her church and family.
